Product Description
Introduction
Licorice root has a long history of use both as a food and a medicine that dates back thousands of years. It has shown to be effective for a very large range of ailments ranging from depression to skin problems, fat reduction, gastric problems, and many more. It is one of the most highly used herbs in Chinese medicine. It is also often mixed with other herbs that are not so pleasant tasting to make them more palatable. Licorice contains a compound called glycyrrhizin that is 50 times sweeter than sugar. Many of the common licorice candies available do not actually contain any licorice but instead will use anise or fennel for flavoring.
