Introduction
Wormwood is most famous for it's use the legendary absinthe - the preferred drink of poets and artists of long ago. It is an extremely bitter plant. It was a plant of high regards to the ancients. Wormwood is generally safe in small doses and is often used a flavoring for liqueurs and in bitters. It was once preferred by beer makers in place of hops.

Precautions
Wormwood contains thujone which is a potentially poisonous chemical. Prolonged use of large doses could cause seizures, kidney failure, nightmares, stomach cramps, difficulty sleeping, vomiting, numbness, paralysis, or death. Do not use wormwood if you are taking anti-seizure medication. As with all herbs, use responsibly and with caution.
