SHIPPING CHECKOUT RETURNS PRIVACY
We do our absolute best to ensure all items will be shipped the next day, early morning orders may even be shipped the same day. On rare occasions it may be up to 3 days to ship in the event of unforeseen circumstances (pandemics, snow storms, etc). We ship Monday-Friday, excluding holidays. We ship by USPS, FedEx, and UPS. When you place an order, we will automatically calculate your shipping at 10% of your order value. Your order will ship using the least expensive of the 3 services. Please note that only USPS can ship to PO Boxes. If you have service issues with one of the carriers in your area please leave a note in the comment section. You will be notified by email when your package ships and given a tracking number. We are unable to send out delivery confirmations but you can follow your tracking number and sign up for notifications with your chosen shipper. You will receive an e-mail with estimated shipping dates for out of stock items.

First Class: 2-7 days (average 3-5 days), no insurance
Priority Mail: 2-7 days guaranteed* (average 2-3 days), insured up to $50 free
FedEx Ground: 1-7 days guaranteed* (No PO Box or Saturday delivery)
UPS Ground: 1-5 business days* (No PO Box)
*The above shipping times do not include the time for fulfillment, the day it is shipped, Sundays, or Postal holidays.
International Shipping:
We ship worldwide with a few exceptions. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to understand and answer for all fees and charges required by Customs and Duty regarding packages ordered and shipped internationally. FedEx and UPS have their own brokerage fees that we have no control over. These fees are billed in addition to any duty and tax. Customers with shipping addresses outside of the United States should be aware that shipping times can be delayed by up to 45 days from inspections by the Customs of the destination country.
All items sold by The Ancient Sage are legal for sale and distribution in the U.S.. However, it is the responsibility of all customers to understand local, regional, and national laws pertaining to the items they purchase, and purchasers are solely responsible for packages lost or destroyed, or any legal action resulting from the purchase of the items that are illegal in their particular country or region. We will provide you with the tracking number when the package is shipped but it is the customers responsibility to track the item with the chosen shipper.
Checkout is provided by Stripe Secure Payment Gateway, PayPal, and Apple Pay. All major credit cards are accepted through these providers.
All sensitive/credit card information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and encrypted into our Payment gateway provider’s database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, who are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your private information will not be stored on our servers. The address bar at the top of your browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.) will start with “https://” if the page you are on is secure.
We also provide the option to pay for your item by phone. This can be done by calling us at 605-202-2066 to make a credit card payment over the phone after which we will immediately ship your item to you.

Customer satisfaction is very important at The Ancient Sage. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it within 10 days of delivery for a refund, replacement or store credit, less shipping charges. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.). You should expect to receive your refund within three weeks of giving your package to the return shipper; however, in most cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (1 to 2 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item for any reason, simply send us an email to hello@theancientsage.com. Please include:
1) Your order number
2) The reason for return - damaged, missing, changed mind, etc
3) The items and quantity you would like to return
3) The names of who picked and packed your order from the packing slip, along with information about whether the items were checked off. You can also optionally send a photo of the packing slip.
4) If damaged please attach a photo, No Zip files please.
5) And last but not least, do you want a replacement, credit on your account or a refund.
All items must be returned in original condition.
Please inspect your items as soon as possible after delivery. If an item is damaged in shipping, you need to contact the shipper rather than sending it back directly to us so they can verify the damage. Filing of damage claims or missing package claims with the shipping provider (UPS, US Postal Service, Fed Ex, Etc…) will be the responsibility of the purchaser if tracking number is updated as delivered. We are not responsible for stolen packages - we encourage customers to add the delivery signature option to their order. Please contact us if there has been a delivery exception or your item has not been delivered in the estimates time frame.
Your privacy is important to us and we are committed to protecting it. This privacy statement provides information about the personal information that The Ancient Sage collects, and the ways in which we uses that personal information.
We keep all information that you share with us private and confidential. You can be assured that we do not share, trade, rent or sell your information with any outside parties except for those we rely on for the operations of our business.
Information Collected:
We collect information from you when you place an order, sign-up for a newsletter or create an account. You will be asked for your name and your email address when signing up for our newsletter which you can opt-out of at any time. Creating an account will allow you to place future orders faster, send and receive messages, track the status of an order, add, edit or delete entries in your address book, create and maintain you own wish list, update your contact details, view a list of items you’ve recently viewed and request a return on items you have purchased.

To send periodic e-mails. The e-mail address you provide for order processing may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future e-mails, we include unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each e-mail.

We offer the use of a secure server. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Web browser cookies:
When you visit our site, short text files called cookies are downloaded to your computer. These cookies are used to store small amounts of information. This information is collected for traffic analysis and marketing.
This website uses Google Analytics for Display Advertisers to collect visitor data and analyze traffic on our site. This information helps us understand customer interests and helps us improve our website and marketing. The cookie does not contain personal details. Depending on the browser that you use, you can set your preferences to block/ refuse cookies, and/or notify you before they are placed.
Third party website advertising:
The Ancient Sage may use the available information from the cookies to advertise to you on other websites that are part of the Google Display Network. This is called re-marketing.
You can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertisers and opt out of customized Google Display Network ads by visiting the Ads Preferences Manager. There is also a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on .

We will not provide any personally identifiable information about you to any other person other than:
